Connect WalletPassBuilder to Zapier

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Zapier connects WalletPassBuilder to thousands of other apps. Use it to give each new customer, member or form sign-up their own Apple Wallet and Google Wallet card, keep cards up to date, send lock-screen messages, and tell your other apps when someone saves a pass or joins your loyalty program.

Before you start

A per-person pass. Issuing and updating cards works on a pass that uses @variables, such as @name or @member_id. Each variable becomes a box to fill in the Zapier step. The builder's Personalized pass template is a good starting point.

An admin sign-in. Connecting gives Zapier access to the whole account, so only an account admin with access to every workspace can approve it.

Connect your account

While the integration is in beta, open the WalletPassBuilder invite link and accept it. This adds WalletPassBuilder to your Zapier account.

In Zapier, create a Zap and add a WalletPassBuilder step.

Click Sign in. In the WalletPassBuilder window, sign in (or create an account) and click Approve.

To disconnect Zapier later, open API in the dashboard, then Connected apps, and click Disconnect.

Triggers

Pass Saved to Wallet: someone added one of your passes to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Includes the pass, business name, card title, which wallet and when.

Pass Removed From Wallet: someone removed one of your passes.

New Loyalty Member: a customer joined your loyalty program from the sign-up QR code, link or kiosk. Includes their phone number, sign-up answers, card link and progress. Pick a program, or leave it empty for all of them.

Zapier checks these triggers on a schedule set by your Zapier plan: every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 minutes on Professional, and every minute on Team and Enterprise.

Actions

Issue a Card to a Person: gives someone their own card from a per-person pass and returns the Card ID and Card Link. Fill in every @variable for a new card. Add a Unique Key (such as their email) and running it again for the same person updates their card instead of creating a duplicate.

Update a Person's Card: pick the person (or map their Card ID) and fill in only the values to change. The card updates on their phone.

Send a Lock-Screen Notification: messages everyone who saved a pass. Leave Send At empty to send now, or pick a time to schedule it.

Add a Loyalty Stamp or Purchase: records a visit on a customer's loyalty card. For spend-based cards, enter the amount spent.

Search

Find a Person's Card: finds a card by its Unique Key, or by a field and value (for example email and the address). Tick create a card if it doesn't exist yet to issue one when nobody matches.

Credits

Issuing a new card uses pass credits, the same as adding a person in the dashboard. Updating a card, searching and sending notifications don't.

Troubleshooting

"This pass has no @variables": the pass gives everyone the same card. Add a variable such as @name to a text field in the builder, or pick a per-person pass.

"A new card needs a value for @…": fill in every variable box, or map a value from an earlier step.

"This pass has no @…. Its variables are…": a field name doesn't match the pass. Refresh the step's fields after changing the pass's variables.

Out of pass credits: buy more credits or upgrade your plan, then replay the Zap run.

The link isn't being sent to the person: WalletPassBuilder returns the Card Link but doesn't send it. Add an email or SMS step after Issue a Card to a Person and map Card Link into the message.
