Connect WalletPassBuilder to Klaviyo
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Connect your Klaviyo account to use your wallet passes in your emails, texts and flows. Wallet activity, such as a pass saved, a loyalty stamp or a reward, arrives in Klaviyo as events that can start flows. Each person’s Add to Wallet link is added to their Klaviyo profile. Everyone on a Klaviyo list can get their own pass, and you can send a lock-screen message to only the people in a segment.
Before you start
A WalletPassBuilder account. New accounts get free pass credits, so you can try everything before you pay.
A per-person pass for profile links and list syncs: a pass with variables such as {name} or {email}, so everyone gets their own copy. Loyalty programs work too. A shared pass, with one link for everyone, still sends events but has no one to match to a profile.
Full access. Only a member with Full access to every workspace can connect Klaviyo. Each workspace connects its own Klaviyo account; switch workspaces from the header to manage another.
Connect your Klaviyo account
Install WalletPassBuilder from the Klaviyo App Marketplace, or in WalletPassBuilder open Settings, then Klaviyo, and click Connect Klaviyo. If you’re not signed in to WalletPassBuilder, you’re asked to sign in or create an account first.
Sign in to Klaviyo if asked, choose the account, and approve WalletPassBuilder’s access.
You come back to Settings, then Klaviyo, which shows the connected Klaviyo account and the date it was connected.
WalletPassBuilder reads your account’s name, adds wallet activity as events, reads and updates profiles to add each person’s Add to Wallet link and loyalty status, and reads your lists and segments. It never sends emails or texts from your Klaviyo account.
Choose what’s sent
Under What’s sent to Klaviyo, turn on either or both:
Wallet and loyalty events: saves, removals, sign-ups, stamps and rewards, as events on each person’s profile. Use them to start flows.
Pass links on profiles: each person’s Add to Wallet link, and a loyalty member’s progress, as profile properties you can use in any email or text.
Set Country code for phone numbers if people sign up with a phone number but no country code, such as on a loyalty sign-up. Klaviyo needs the full number.
Under Passes, each per-person pass and loyalty program is listed. For each one, choose Match people by: the variable that holds each person’s email or phone. People are matched to Klaviyo profiles by email, or by phone when there’s no email. Profiles update within a few minutes of saving.
Events in Klaviyo
These events appear in Klaviyo under Analytics, then Metrics, with the WalletPassBuilder logo, and any of them can start a flow:
Added Pass to Wallet: someone saved their pass to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Removed Pass from Wallet: someone removed it.
Loyalty Member Enrolled: a customer joined a loyalty program.
Stamp Earned: a stamp on a loyalty pass.
Purchase Recorded: a purchase on a spend-based loyalty pass.
Reward Earned: a loyalty pass reached its reward.
Reward Redeemed: the reward was used and the pass started over.
For example, start a flow with Added Pass to Wallet to send a welcome email, or with Reward Earned to remind people to come back and use their reward.
Put the Add to Wallet link in emails and texts
With Pass links on profiles on, each pass under Passes lists its Profile properties, each with a ready-made tag such as {{ person|lookup:'Property name' }}. Click Copy next to a tag and paste it into a Klaviyo email or SMS template, for example as the link of an Add to Wallet button. Each person sees their own link.
Issue passes to a Klaviyo list
Under Issue passes to a Klaviyo list, click Add a list.
Choose the Klaviyo list and a per-person Pass.
For each variable on the pass, choose the profile field it comes from, such as first name or email, or pick Custom property… and type the property’s name.
To include people who are already on the list, tick Also issue passes to everyone already on the list. Otherwise only people who join from now on get one.
Click Start issuing passes.
Everyone on the list gets their own pass within a few minutes, and so does anyone who joins it later. Their pass’s link is added to their Klaviyo profile, ready to send in a flow. Each new pass uses one pass credit. Someone whose profile is missing one of the chosen fields doesn’t get a pass; they’re listed in Recent activity.
Message a Klaviyo segment
Send a lock-screen notification to only the people in a segment who have their own copy of a pass. Everyone else’s pass stays as it is. Messages don’t use credits.
Under Message a Klaviyo segment, choose the Pass and the Klaviyo segment.
Add an optional Title and the Message, such as “Double stamps this weekend”.
Click Check who it reaches to see how many people on the pass are in the segment.
Click Send to and confirm. The message also appears in your notification history.
Recent activity
Recent activity on the Klaviyo settings page shows the latest events, profile updates and list passes sent to Klaviyo, and anything that didn’t go through, with the reason.
Disconnect
In Settings, then Klaviyo, click Disconnect, then Yes, disconnect. You can also remove the app in Klaviyo. Either way, nothing more is sent to Klaviyo. Passes already issued keep working.
Troubleshooting
“Only a Full access member with access to every workspace can connect Klaviyo”: ask the account owner to connect it, or to give you Full access.
No pass link on a profile: check that the pass has Match people by set to the variable holding each person’s email or phone. Shared passes have no one to match.
Phone numbers not matching: set Country code for phone numbers so numbers saved without one reach Klaviyo in full.
Events not showing yet: events usually arrive within a minute or two. Check Recent activity for anything that failed.
