Create wallet passes from Google Sheets

Last updated: November 3, 2026

The Wallet Pass Builder add-on for Google Sheets gives every row of your sheet its own Apple Wallet and Google Wallet pass. It writes each person's pass link and status back into the sheet. When you edit a row and sync again, that person's pass updates on their phone.

Before you start

A live pass with variables, such as {name} or {tier}. See Set up dynamic passes, or make one from the add-on.

A sheet with a header row and one row per person, including a column that tells people apart, such as their email.

Install and connect

In your sheet, go to Extensions, then Wallet Pass Builder, then Open.

Click Connect WalletPassBuilder, then sign in and approve in the new tab. The sidebar updates by itself. If you don't have an account yet, pick a template in the sidebar to make your first pass.

Create the passes

Under Select Pass, choose your pass. Only live passes with variables are listed. Click New pass to make one, and it appears in the sidebar when it's ready.

Under Map Columns, choose the column for each variable. Each row shows the value from row 2 as an example.

Next to Match by, choose the column that says who each row is, usually email.

Click Create passes. The add-on adds a Pass link and a Pass status column and fills them in for every row.

Send each person their link however you like, for example in a mail merge or your email tool.

Keep passes up to date

Edit a row, add new rows, then click Sync changes. Only new and edited rows are sent, and the passes on people's phones update. Click Sync all to send every row again.

A banner or photo for each person

If your pass has a banner or a photo, you can give each person their own. Add a column of image links: a direct link to an image, or a Google Drive file shared with anyone who has the link. Banner and Photo then appear under Map Columns. Leave a cell empty to use the pass's own image.

If an image can't be used, the row's status says so and the add-on tries it again on the next sync.

Good to know

Passes from the add-on use pass credits the same way as the dashboard. When you run out, new rows are skipped and their status says so. See How pass credits work.

A row with an empty cell in a column the pass needs is skipped.

Loyalty passes aren't available in the add-on yet.

The add-on only reads the sheet it's open in, and only sends the columns you map.

To disconnect, click Sign out at the top of the sidebar.
