Apple Wallet and Google Wallet tickets for Event Espresso
Give every Event Espresso registration its own wallet pass, with its registration code as a QR code. Attendees save it from the thank-you page, and it updates when the event changes.
New accounts get free pass credits to start. Tested with Event Espresso Decaf 5.0.59 in October 2026.

Event Espresso wallet ticket or emailed ticket?
Event Espresso already sends registration emails. A wallet pass keeps each ticket on the attendee's phone, and you can put the buttons in those emails.
| Emailed ticket | Wallet pass | |
|---|---|---|
| Easy to find at the door | Only by searching their inbox | Yes, in the wallet on their phone |
| Registration code ready to scan | Yes, if the email loads | Yes, as a QR code |
| Updates when the event changes | No, it shows what was sent | Yes, on the customer's phone |
| Lock-screen reminder | No | Optional, at the start time |
| Reminder near the venue | No | Optional |

Event Espresso questions
- Do my customers need to install an app?
- No. The pass opens in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, which they already have on their phone. On a computer, the button opens a page with a QR code to scan with their phone.
- Does it work with Event Espresso Decaf?
- Yes. We tested with the free Decaf version from WordPress.org.
- Does each registration get its own pass?
- Yes. Event Espresso makes one registration per ticket, and each gets its own pass and code.
- When is the pass issued?
- When a registration is approved or awaiting review. If it's waiting on payment, on the waitlist or incomplete, the pass waits too.
- What does it cost?
- The plugin is free. It uses pass credits from your WalletPassBuilder account: 1 per pass created or saved to a wallet, whichever total is higher. Updating passes doesn't use credits, and new accounts get free pass credits to start.
- Is my attendee's contact information on the pass?
- No. Email addresses, phone numbers and postal addresses are never sent to WalletPassBuilder, because anyone who sees the phone can see a wallet pass.
- What if a registration doesn't get a pass?
- Check that Event Espresso is turned on under the plugin's Integrations tab, then look in Activity. A failed entry says why, and Retry sends it again. The plugin also checks every 15 minutes for anything that failed.
