Logo in the middle

Your logo stays in your browser. With a logo, the code uses High error correction so it still scans.

Recovers about 15%. Right for most codes.

Margin: 4

Blank space around the code, in dots. Scanners need some; 4 is the standard.

Fill in the form and your QR code appears here.

Image size

SVG stays sharp at any size, so use it for print.

Put the QR code on a Wallet pass

Turn it into a loyalty card, ticket or membership that lives in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.

How to make a QR code

  • Pick what the code should do: open a website, join WiFi, save a contact, start an email, call or text.
  • Fill in the details. The code updates as you type.
  • Style it: start from a preset, then change the dots, corners and colors, or add your logo.
  • Download it as PNG, SVG or JPEG, and scan it with your phone to check before you print.

Tips for codes that scan

  • Keep dark dots on a light background with strong contrast. Light-on-dark codes fail in some scanner apps.
  • Leave a margin around the code. Four dots wide is the standard.
  • Print it at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide, and bigger if people scan from a distance.
  • Shorter content makes a simpler code that scans faster, so use short links where you can.

From QR code to wallet pass

A QR code on a counter sign or flyer is a good start. A wallet pass goes further: it stays on your customer’s phone, shows their loyalty stamps or membership, and you can update it or send a lock-screen message any time. With WalletPassBuilder you get one link and QR code that opens Apple Wallet on iPhone and Google Wallet on Android.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator free?+

Yes. Make as many codes as you like and download them as PNG, SVG or JPEG. There's no account and no watermark.

Do the QR codes expire?+

No. The content is written into the code itself, not stored on a server, so the code works for as long as the link or details in it are valid.

Can I change where the QR code points after printing it?+

Not with a code made here: the address is part of the code. To change it later, point the code at a page you control, or use a wallet pass, which you can update after customers have saved it.

Will a QR code with a logo still scan?+

Yes. Adding a logo switches the code to High error correction, which lets it lose about 30% of its dots and still scan. Keep the logo small and test the code with your phone before printing.

Which format should I download?+

SVG for print, because it stays sharp at any size. PNG for websites, slides and social posts, especially with a transparent background. JPEG when a tool doesn't accept the others.

How do people join my WiFi with a QR code?+

Choose WiFi, enter the network name and password, and print the code. Most iPhones and Android phones join the network when their camera scans it.
